                           Yellowed Yesterdays

Withered grey strands caress the creases of her jaded face.
She crumbles in a cobwebbed corner,
brushing the years off a battered box.
From the depths of dormant memories stream the
sting of days forgot.
She tugs at yellowed yesterdays
revisiting pieces of the past:
the ardour before the adventure,
the melody of first love,
the recklessness of eternal youth,
the timelessness of life.
As regrets shake her shoulders, she stores away her little life.
And with the outgoing tide of time, this too shall be forgot.
